Stitch Fix #7 ~ Parade of Dresses

Still on the hunt for some much needed dresses! Of course, I've turned to Stitch Fix because I just don't have the time to hit the mall.  Dragging two kids into a fitting room is just not happening. With Stitch Fix I can try on 5 dresses from the comfort of my very own bathroom in 10 minutes flat.

Want to know more about Stitch Fix read my first review here or if you'd like to place an order of your own you can use my referral code and help a dear teacher out (I get $25 credit for every person who signs up and places an order via my link).

Stitch Fix carries clothes for all ages, shapes, sizes and maternity clothes too!  They now offer SHOES!!! Keep what you like and send back what you don't.  So convenient and so very easy.

What's in the box this time?

Item #1- Pixley Dexter Faux Wrap Dress $68

This one was too big in the chest and for a wrap dress it was tough not to notice the bulge.   The material on this dress was soft which added a mice sense of comfort but just not my style.

Item #2- 41 Hawthorn Fae Dress $68

Super cute dress and perfect for a formal event or evening wedding.  Sadly this bay didn't make it up my hips or down my chest.  No matter how hard I tried it wasn't going on.  No zippers on this dress. It has a leather waist band that does not give way for an easy fit.  I'd say definitely does not run true to size. Bummed to have to send this one back.

Item #3- Gilli Adalea Dress $58

Loved everything about this dress and perfect for a dress up or dress down event. The top is loose and has a wrap look to it.  The skirt is A-line and given the right twirl you can see a hint of sparkle in it.  I really don't need another "black and white" dress, but I kept it just because it fit so well and frankly I can find plenty of opportunities to wear it.

Item #4- Market & Spruce Aerin Dress $64

I did not care for the style of this dress.  Not at all flattering and I dislike tying in the front.  The color was great and different than what's in my closet but just not for me.

Item #5- Papermoon Waters Knit Maxi Dress $68

I usually shy away from long dresses because of my smaller frame.  However, Kelly was spot on with this one.  The length was perfect for this short girl.  I have been searching for the perfect maxi for awhile and although I don't love blue this dress looking really nice on.

2 out of 5.  I will be trying again next month with a similar request.   Still in search of dresses for 2 more events this summer.

Stitch Fix #6- Spring Edition

Spring is in the air! I love this time of year.  The weather is perfect to be outside but not unbearably hot.  I don't know about you but I have a ton of upcoming events to prepare for.  From baby showers to weddings, I'm thinking there's no reusing what I have in the closet that many times.  So for this fix, I requested Kelly again (last 5 fixes and she has done a fabulous job), the goal was spring colors and dressy.  I was looking for mix and match pieces and some dresses.
Want to know more about Stitch Fix read my first review here or if you'd like to place an order of your own you can use my referral code and help a dear teacher out (I get $25 credit for every person who signs up and places an order via my link).

What's in the box?

Item #1- Le Lis Maile Scoop Neck Top $44

Didn't love it.  It was loose fitting and nice for Spring but too big in the armpits.  I couldn't wear without a cover up.

Item #2- Daniel Rainn Surgio Mixed Material Crochet Trim Knit Top $54

Soft, comfy fit but WAY too big.  It didn't pair well with the skirt at all.  Returned.

Item #3- Lysse Brogan Printed Pencil Skirt $88

This is my first skirt from Stitch Fix.  I was a bit nervous because I don't do skirts.  Dresses.. yes.  Skirts...no. I loved the snug fit of this skirt and it was the perfect length.  Great booty shaper!  Only problem is I don't have anything to pair it with.  For the price, not worth keeping and not very Springish.

Item #4- London Times Rilee Lace Dress  $68

LOVE at first sight.  I'm not loving my fix at this point.  I saved this baby for last and fingers crossed as I tried it on.  It was not only flattering it was moveable and perfect for an outside wedding.  My only keeper of the group.

Item #5- Gilli Kamile Knit Ruched Dress  $54

Very nice dress and a great price!  This is super soft and comfy.  I didn't love they navy.  Too dark for my Spring events.  My main reason for not keeping it was that it clung.  Even with a spanx it didn't do my body justice.  Back it went.

1 out of 5, not my favorite fix.  I will be trying again next month with a similar request.

Stitch Fix #5 Cruise request

Took a few months off of my monthly fix, but I'm back!
It's Winter here in New England, but I'm dreaming of blue skies, sand between my toes and a cold drink in my hand! For this fix, I requested Kelly again (last 4 fixes and she has done a fabulous job), the goal was cruise attire.  I was looking for mix and match pieces and a dress.  I think this was the most exciting fix I've had this far!  I was so eager to see what Kelly had picked out for me.

Want to know more about Stitch Fix read my first review here or if you'd like to place an order of your own you can use my referral code and help a dear teacher out (I get $25 credit for every person who signs up and places an order via my link).

What's in the box?

Item # 1- Market & Spruce Ralphie Romper $64

I wasn't too sure about this because it reminded me of something toddlers wear.  I gave it a try and once it was on I was sold!  Super cute and comfy.  Flowy perfection for a cruise or a nice summer day.  Kelly sent me a large size and there was no way I was going to fill the top of this.  It's a one piece outfit.  However, the top is a wrap style and everything just hung out, even after pulling the strings at the shoulders it was still way too loose.  I emailed customer service for a smaller size, but of course no luck.

In the end I kept it because I loved everything else.  I'm thinking of taking it to a seamstress just to see if it's tuckable, otherwise safety pins it is!

Item # 2- Loveappella Kimichi Colorblock Lace Knit Top $48

I love this color! The top is light and airy.  The lace detail is only on the front, the back is solid.  I like that it is casual enough for day wear with a pair of shorts; great for island hopping. Pair it with a long skirt and a cardigan for the dinning room.  Keeper!

Item # 3- Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Chino Short $58

Ah the coveted Dear John shorts that are all over Pinterest!  My first thought was whoa baby, those are super short!  With some hesitation I slipped them on.  Just a smidge tighter than I'd like but not uncomfortable.  Short they are!  My 4 year old told me I needed to cover my legs.  Not sure if it was the length or the fact that it's winter here in NE and they are super white, lol.  I paired it with both tops from this fix as well as a few from previous fixes and in the end I decided, I'm under 40 on a cruise so why not!  Keeping it.

Item # 4- Skies are Blue Ettora Textured Knit Top $48

This is your classic heather gray tank with a touch of black lace. $48 not so much but as a total fix well worth keeping.  It's too long for the Dear John shorts above but is easily paired with a long skirt, leggings or biker shorts.  Very interchangeable for any time of day.

Item # 5- Pixley Millie Textured Dress $68

I've had my eye on this dress since the Fall.  It's navy not black as the picture might reflect.  I pinned a bunch of summery dresses and cute evening wear, not what I was hoping Kelly would have sent me for a Caribbean cruise.   It's nice enough for the dinning room so it too will get packed.

Overall a great fix!  I kept it all and will be packing it all with a few other items I've received.  A big hug to Kelly for another 5/5 fix!

Stitch Review #4

Yes I have found a new hobby, pinning Stitch Fix items!
The prices range.  Keep what you like and send back what you don't.  So convenient and so very easy.

It has only been a few weeks since my last fix and since I stayed under budget I was able to reschedule it a bit sooner .  I requested Kelly again (last 3 fixes and she has done a fabulous job). As I'm going through my closet I'm ditching/donating and last month I noticed I really need more work day tops.  So I requested some and pinned a bunch of pictures.  My stylist really does take my notes and my Pinterest board into consideration, which makes her AWESOME in my opinion.
One of the things I love most about getting my fix each month is the styling card.  I love Kelly's personalized message as well as the outfit and coordinating ideas.  To my dismay, this month I didn't get MY styling card.  Instead I got a completely different card that was meant for someone else.  I did email customer service in hopes they could email or resend my card.
~Quick response and I received a PDF copy~

What's in the box?

Item # 1- Fun2Fun Ellenia Mixed Print Top $48

Cute, flowy, easy to wear top.  I didn't like that the sleeves were so tight around my arms.  I have thin arms so this shouldn't have been a problem, but otherwise it fit well.  Kept it!

Item # 2- Papermoon Kyro Button Up Top $48

I kept this!  It was a perfect addition to my closet and fit well.  Super soft and comfortable.  Not a tight jean feel at all.  I love that I can wear it over a dress, as a button up or over a sleeveless top.  No limits on this piece!

Item # 3- Skies are Blue Tuplin Embroidery Detail Top $58

Not something I would have picked out for myself.  Another reason I love Stitch Fix!  Once I put it on I was SOLD!  It is a perfect work top that can be wore with cords, jeans, slacks or a skirt.  Keeper!

Item # 4- Papermoon Vale Split Neck Top $58

Very nice top, love the back side of it.  Completely different than anything I own.  I  really liked this top as a Summer top but doesn't work as a layering top.  It's a shame to hide the back of it.  Right now I have no use for this but decided to keep it just because I liked it so much.

Item # 5- Eight Sixty Gabre Eyelet Dress $88

I had pinned this dress and was excited to see how it looked on.  This dress is very versatile because it can be worn with boots and a cardigan in the fall and simple flats or wedges when the weather warms up. Great fit, very comfortable. It has an elastic waistband that was snug and just didn't feel right. Also, no pockets.  Overall a cute dress.

So I made it a 5/5 for the overall price.

Stitch Review #3

Today I received my third box from Stitch Fix.

This is my Fall Fix.  Want to know more about Stitch Fix read my first review here or if you'd like to place an order of your own you can use my referral code and help a dear teacher out (I get $25 credit for every person who signs up via my link). Did you know that they carry maternity clothes too!  Give them a shot you too might become addicted.

Since my other fixes have been to my liking I didn't change much.  I again was pretty specific about what I wanted and didn't want (not Summer or Winter).  I requested Kelly again. I asked for FALL items, with Fall colors.  I asked her to include a good mix.  I also requested a denim jacket.
I'm purging as I go.  One new top means I donate one that's in the closet.  I also made this fix later than the 1 month mark by adjusting my subscription.  OK on with the reveal.
Let's see how Kelly did this month.

What's in the box?

Item # 1- Just USA Anjuli Dark Wash Denim Jacket $58

This is a cropped jacket.  Lightweight and soft, feels great on. I instantly loved it!  It's a piece I definitely wanted in my Fall wardrobe.  Keeping it.

Item # 2- Market & Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee $44

Soft grey tee, light weight and very versatile.  Paired nicely with the jacket and burgundy pants. It was just too big and didn't look right on me.  Returned.

Item # 3- Kut From the Kloth Siena Cropped Pant (olive) $58

Great casual work pants, just right for this time of year.  Thin material, cute on, but just a bit too big at the waist.
Returned it.

Item # 4- Brixon Ivy Bixby Clover Print Blouse $64

I just loved this shirt as soon as I saw it!  Adorable pearl-tpye accent around the cuff. A perfect casual workday or weekend top that pairs with anything!  Looks great with jeans, black pants and the burgundy Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant. It has an odd fit to it.  I really tried to convince myself to keep it but there was no getting around it, much too snug around the girls.  Loose at the arms and waist but the chest was just too tight.  A larger size would have been overall too big I'd be swimming in it. I had no choice but to return it.

Item # 5- Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant (burgundy) $78

These are amazingly comfortable and the color is just for Fall!  I would NEVER have bought this color at the store.  They fit like a glove and although the price tag is high, I wasn't making the mistake of sending back a great fitting pair of pants again.  Kept it!

Overall a great box selection by Kelly, just not quite perfect fitting on my body.

One piece at a time, Stitch Fix has modernized my closet and definitely updated my style.  I hate shopping.  It's time consuming and I never come home with exactly what I had in mind.  Stitch Fix, although more expensive, though I'm getting past that, delivers!  It gives me an in-home discovery of new pieces and great ideas on how to wear them.  Even if I don't purchase the entire fix, I can keep the styling cards and use them in a later fix or when I do venture out shopping.

Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.  Well you might but you won't know it, unless you try.

How to get a Stitch Fix Preview

Some have been wondering how to take a sneak peek of your Fix when it ships.  If you like the element of surprise, read no further.  Walk away now, otherwise prepare to be tempted.

Once your Stitch Fix has shipped, you will receive an email telling you it has shipped.  However if you're impatient and as excited as I am, you will be stalking your account until it says shipped.  In which case you will find out before the email arrives.

So here's the trick...keep an eye on your Home page your note to your stylist has now changed to fix is in progress.  You will then see that change to it has shipped along with a tracking number. Look below that it says "Have you already received your package? Checkout."  Click here to take a peek at your current fix.

Now the fun part...hunting the Internet for pictures of these items.  Some popular items will be found easily, otherwise you may need to be patient and embrace the element of surprise.
